Cobalt (Co)


Cobalt is important for the formation of bark and cellulose. It works in conjunction with molybdenum and flouride to give hardness or sturdiness. Cobalt is important for seed coat formation. If feed crops are deficient in cobalt then the baby animals will be weak.

In animals, cobalt is essential in the prevention of anemia, together with copper and iron. Cobalt is essential in the functions of the endocrine glands responsible for digestion and growth. It helps depress pathogenic intestinal micro flora in ruminants.
