H.323
Polycom Distance education is two-way communication between a teacher and student separated by a geographical distance, using technology for the purpose of facilitating and supporting the education process. Distance education systems are usually interactive and are becoming a highly valuable tool in the delivery and training of education to widely dispersed students. One of the benefits of distance education is that it can reach remote locations in instances where the instructor cannot travel to the students' site.
Two types of equipment are utilized for the purpose of distance learning at our center. For groups of 2 or more we have the H.323 that is located in our classroom facility that accomodates up to 48 people. In addition, we now offer the use of the Polycom ViaVideo™ equipment that enables quality video communications on a personal computer.
