EXTENSION INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES:

  • My primary responsibility is to transfer new technology in the area of rangeland ecology and management to landowners, managers, youth and other interested parties. My special interests are in the area of weed and brush control and toxic plant management. In the past few years my focus has been on development of the Brush Busters program, which is best described as a “common sense”, “do-it-yourself” approach that emphasizes the use of individual plant treatments to reduce costs and the quantity of herbicide used. Secondly, a major effort has been to develop and fund an integrated saltcedar management program on the upper Colorado River.
